Who is The Stretch Lab and how long have you been serving our community?
The Stretch Lab is an assisted stretch clinic to improve the way you feel and function. We have been serving the Central Coast and Newcastle communities for the past 7 years.
Tell us a little bit about what assisted stretch is?
Assisted stretch is a 1:1 modality to enhance your flexibility and mobility needs. You are paired with a practitioner who focuses on your individual needs. The sessions take place on a table - not too dissimilar to a physio or massage table; and your body is taken through a range of relevant moves for your needs.
Tell us how assisted stretch can help people living with Multiple Sclerosis?
Stretch for folks with MS is beneficial. By improving your flexibility, stretching counteracts the reduced range of motion and muscle spasms caused by MS.
What is the price involved, and how long is each visit?
The cost is $140.00for an hour. Additionally, we also offer 45 minutes for $110.00 for those without as much time, and 90 minutes for $185.00 for those where a little more is needed.
Is assisted stretch claimable from my NDIS budget or can I claim on my health fund?
Some of our clients have claimed from their NDIS funding, however, you will need to check with your plan provider if you have available funds and whether it aligns with your goals. Every case is different, and all clients have different individualised needs. With private health funds, you will need to ask them if they cover under wellness or personal training etc. Each fund is different so you will need to check with your provider.
Do you have any other services at The Stretch Lab that you can recommend for
people living with MS?
We offer Remedial Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Trigger Point Therapy. We also have Normatec compression boots onsite; these boots aid in promoting both circulation and lymph flow, combat swelling and
inflammation, and also have you relaxed with your feet up for a period of time that suits, starting from 15 mins upwards (at a dollar a minute).
What message do you have for people living with MS?
Promote your ability whatever that ability may be, allow for change and have someone in your corner that can monitor and promote your ability.
